MS Word Menu

This lesson would explain everything about MS Word Menu. Various forms of MS Word Menu can be viewed while performing different operations.

    MS Word Menu

    With reference to the spot-lighted area in graphics-1, menu options and sub-options can be selected from the Menu Bar.

    All the menu options that you would ever need in Microsoft Word are available on the Menu Bar. They are arranged under different categories like File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, etc.

    Just check each of the menu option and get familiar with the various sub menus. We will learn about the different menus in subsequent topics.

    MS Word Menu has become very user friendly. Word will remember the different menu options that you normally use and show you only those options. That is why it is known as personalised because the menu is customized to match your usage.

    If you wish to see the missing options, no problem! Just left-click the double down-arrow at the bottom of each dropdown menu.

    In our example below, please see the double down-arrow just below the Exit option. Click it!

    Lo and Behold! The entire set of options have appeared!

    Whenever you are inputting text, by right-clicking (press the right mouse button) your mouse in the Text or Data Input Area, you will get a set of menu options that are relevant to text input.

    WordArt is a method of inputting characters in a fancy format. This can be achieved with a WordArt tool in Microsoft Word. We will cover it in detail when we reach the right topic.

    Similar to text input, you will get a set of menu options that are relevant to WordArt input when you right-click your mouse inside the WordArt.

    Please refer graphic-5 that shows the context sensitive menu options when we are inserting a graphical object in Microsoft Word. Similar to WordArt, you will right-click your mouse inside the graphic to get the menu options.

    Graphical objects can be a picture, a photograph, a clipart, etc. We need to use the Drawing Toolbar to insert a graphic object. In fact, Drawing toolbar has icons for inserting WordArt object as well.
